Electro-Optical Modeling and Analysis Research at EOSL

EOSL research in electro-optical modeling and analysis specializes in the detailed modeling and simulation of electro-optical systems, and developing analysis of threats to military systems. In particular, we conduct analysis of EO/IR threat sensors and systems, target and background signatures, and countermeasures used by EO/IR targets to defeat threat sensors and systems. Our current research includes:

EOSL possesses a unique capability in computational optimization using internally-developed genetic/evolutionary algorithm and genetic/evolutionary programming techniques and software that have been successfully applied to optimization of flare patterns, missile warning receiver algorithms, and can be easily applied to jammer waveforms as well.

Software Capabilities and Government Code Integration

Much of our EO modeling and analysis capability centers on the use of several GTRI-developed codes that also have integrated numerous US Government-owned codes. These software capabilities include but are not limited to:
