Centers of Excellence Sponsored by the Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory

EOSL takes a leadership role in electro-optical research that crosses institutional boundaries. We sponsor and are involved with several Centers of Technological Excellence, which focus deeply on particular technological and systemic applications of basic electro-optical research. Our centers include:

SENSIAC

SENSIAC is a DOD-chartered center for military sensing information and analysis. It provides research services, military sensing symposia, and publications for the military sensing community.

Environmental Radiation Center

The ERC performs research, testing, service, and student training in radiological monitoring of the environment.

Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Center

ESOH oversees programs in compliance, environmental emergency response and occupational safety and health issues.

Medical Device Test Center

EOSL's Medical Device Test Center simulates real-world exposure to identify interactions and help manufacturers improve compatibility.

Phosphor Technology Center

The Center conducts joint research with leading U.S. manufacturers of high-definition flat-panel displays to develop new electroluminescent, cathodoluminescent, plasma and field-emission displays for commercial and military markets.

Center for the Optimization of Simulated Multiple Objective Systems

COSMOS provides the capability to analyze and optimize complex systems through the use of simulation tools.
